A couple of months ago, a friend of mine who invited me for dinner, asked before I left her house: "Do you want to paint a turtle?". An intriguing question which sparked my curiosity.
"Sounds fun, sure! ???"
Back in 2006 in North Padre Island, TX, her sister created a fund raiser for the endangered Kemp's Ridley Turtle called Turtle Trail. Since then, every year they have asked artists to let their imagination go free giving them a cast aluminum turtle to "play with". The turtles will be auctioned to raise money for the foundation.
So I went home with my turtle and a few weeks later ALUNA was born!
